Therefore, packaging is essential in order to preserve quality for a long time, and guarantee food safety.
Lavazza’s Research & Development department is constantly working on the development of new solutions that combine product guarantees, innovation and eco-compatibility. Above all, the focus of their attention is on minimizing environmental impact.

LCAs (Life Cycle Assessments) are used as technical and scientific tools to assess the environmental performance of packaging materials used throughout the production chain, with the aim of improving them from an ecological point of view. This also involves the collaboration of various suppliers.
The Department utilizes a materials testing lab, fitted with all the latest technology required to characterize packaging materials.
