Today, Renato Ardovino is one of the leading figures in Italian cake design: originally from Paestum, Renato has an artisan’s workshop in Battipaglia (in the province of Salerno), where he produces astounding creations from sponge cake, sugar, icing, etc.
After his studies at the Academy of Art, Renato Ardovino became drawn to the world of cake-making, which he enriched with design, color and creativity after studying it with the greatest international masters.
He took his first steps into the world of gastronomy 20 years ago, when he managed the restaurant of the municipal theatre in Salerno and bought the café where he worked, turning it into a Viennese-style establishment.
His inspiration grew stronger over time, thanks to numerous collaborations with the most important figures in cake design. His style is elegant and refined, but also imaginative and colorful, as shown by his creations: from wedding cakes to cakes for children. In just a short time, Renato Ardovino ascended through the top ten Italian cake designers, thanks to a winning combination: art and cake-making.
Since January 2018 he has been a Brand Ambassador for Eraclea, having been a client for approximately 20 years. The way in which he offers Eraclea products at his establishment is truly surprising, because even using the simplest recipes, he has the ability to transform a coffee break at the bar into a moment of pure art appreciation.
Since 2012, he has been one of the new faces on Real Time and the host of a couple of television shows: ‘Torte in Corso con Renato’ (Cakes in the Making with Renato) and ‘My Cake Design’. In 2013, the publishing house Rizzoli brought out his first book, ‘Torte in Corso con Renato’, which became a best seller (ed. Best BUR).
